Carbon Poker is a relatively new player on the online poker market, but also one of the most promising of the newly released. It’s quite clear it is determined to succeed, offering massive promotions, quick withdrawals and great software. The software is superb, fast and flexible, comes bundled with Blackjack and Backgammon and all the vital functions and filters you can think of when you play at the tables, or when you browse through the lobby.

It also features very soft competition and comes with a great variety of games, including rarities like Razz and 5 Card Draw. Residing on the increasingly popular Merge Gaming network also allows them to accommodate U.S. players a great advantage, and something helping them grow quickly. It is, not very competitive today as its traffic rates are far too low to stay in the game with giants like Full Tilt Poker and Titan Poker.

The games at Carbon Poker are on the looser side, with many inexperienced players taking their first shot at online poker. Most of the traffic is in Texas Hold'em as one would expect, but Omaha and other games are populated every now and then too. The loosest tables tend to be the low and micro stakes, but the more unusual games can also prove to be very profitable. A majority of all players come to play ring games, although the frequent Freerolls do lure a lot of new and veteran players to the tournament tables as well.

Carbon Poker offers very good game diversity, with some of the lesser known games mixed in with all variations of the more common Texas Hold'em and Omaha. As a player at Carbon Poker, you earn Comp Points, which are short for complimentary points. The games offered at Carbon Poker are Texas Hold'em, Seven Card Stud Hi and Hi Lo, Omaha Hi and Hi Lo, Razz, Five-Card Stud, Five Card Draw, Triple Draw and Badugi. Just like in a land-based casino, you earn such points to receive rewards for being a loyal member.

Carbon Poker does offer a few exciting tournaments, but is limited to its lower player count. Texas Hold'em and Omaha are the dominant games offered in tournament format, with only a few tournaments running in Badugi and Draw Poker. Therefore, we rarely see games of the same magnitude as offered on sites like Full Tilt Poker. All games are available as heads-up, full and shorthanded tables. Carbon Poker is not a place to go if you are looking for satellites to real action poker, such as World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. Carbon Poker also offers plenty of multi table tournaments and sits and goes, and is very good at spicing up play with lots of special tournament offers and giveaways.
